Gospel artiste and founder of winners house of praise in Chicago-USA,Rev.Nat Awuni has added his voice to the ongoing debate as to whether gospel artistes should charge for their performances at church programmes.

Gospel musicians are seen as ministers who propagate the kingdom business through music but before their ministry will get recognition, they will need the support of a sound engineer,a media promoter or a presenter, and a television station also to support in the video promotion which all amount to capital in order to go through such investment.

But over the years, gospel artistes who have been bold to demand payment from some churches for programs have been tagged as ‘’money making ministers’’but looking at the cost involved in making the musician hit the limelight, it is very worrying if one does not have the necessary financial support.

Speaking in an interview on A1 Radio’s flagship entertainment programe E-Zone,Rev.Nat Awuni indicated that some pastors are not helping the gospel musicians to grow,

He said “if the church is taking care of the pastor then the church should be able to take care of the musician too,how will a pastor tell a gospel artiste God bless you,is that the way you are blessed?”.

The ‘’Higher grounds’’ hitmaker expressed worry over how some believers are not interested in patronizing  CDs in order for them to regain monies invested in their career to progress.
