Steps have been taken with necessary documentations sealed for the kickoff of an assembling plant for farm equipment in Tamale, capital city of the Northern Region.
This initiative when materialized, would be the first of it’s kind and the largest in West Africa.
This was revealed in an interview with A1 News by president of A&G Company limited, Thomas Abanga a local but internationally connected mechanized Agricultural Company based in Northern Ghana.
Work on the proposed site for the assembly has commenced and it is expected to cost close to $6million.
Mr. Abanga who doubles as CEO of Abanga farms, the largest rice farm in the country covering 1,200 acres said the decision to establish the industry in the northern region was part of efforts to harness the agricultural potential of the north.
