The Tamale Sports Stadium has been named after the late Alhaji Aliu Mahama.
Alhaji Aliu Mahama was the Vice President during the tenure of former President Agyekum Kuffour.
This move by government is in fulfillment of a campaign promise by President Akufo-Addo in the lead up to the 2016 elections.
The Vice President, Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia is expected to see to its commissioning today as part of activities to celebrate the memory of the great man.
