Philanthropist donates medical equipment to Tongo Hospital

Tongo District Hospital in the Talensi District of Upper East Region has received medical equipment from Grace Molley, a native of the area domiciled in the United States of America.

Mrs. Molley, a professional nurse said the donation formed part of her social responsibility to the hospital to serve the people better.

“I am presenting this to you, to utilize it for my people which I know they are going to need it, and there is a whole lot of stuff that we will be bringing over” she stated

According to her, she mobilized the equipment with the support of the staff of Mount Sinai Medical Hospital in New York in the United States of America based on her understanding of the lack of medical equipment in health facilities in the region.

Mrs. Molley who made the donation together with her daughter commended the staff of where she mobilized the items. The philanthropist urged the hospital to use the equipment for their purpose “because all items donated is usable”

The gesture was also spearheaded by MP of Talensi Constituency, Benson Tongo Baba.

Administrator of Tongo hospital, Prosper Asandon who received the items on behalf of management commended Mrs. Molley for the kind gesture.

“I stand here on behalf of the medical superintendent and management of Talensi District hospital, to actually thank the donors of these medical items, for their humanitarian contribution to their own area”

The gesture according to the administrator came at the time the hospital needs such items most because “if you go into our store, you will realize the store is almost empty just because of the lack of funds to be able to get some of these things”

Mr. Asandon appealed to other benevolent persons and institutions to assist the hospital in order to provide the desired service to its clients.
