Accra-based Citi FM is reporting that the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Johnson Asiama has resigned from his position.
The Deputy Governor denied his resignation when news broke in December last year that he had resigned from his position. The Deputy Governor then indicated that he was on a ten-day leave.
But information to Accra-based Citi FM indicates that he has resigned from his position and the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo has been informed about it.
Citi FM believes that his resignation was as a result of ideological differences between the government that appointed him and the current governing government.
Dr. Johnson Asiama hold a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom, and an MPhil in Economics from the University of Ghana, Legon.
