The President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo has showered praises on his wife for overseeing the completion of the mother and child unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital in Kumasi.
The First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo has overseen completion of the mother and child unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital in Kumasi which was funded through fundraising and monies from Ghanaian philanthropists.
The Unit which has been commissioned today has been named after the mother of the King of the Ashanti kingdom, Otumfour Osei Tutu,Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II.
The President in a tweet celebrating his wife for the good work she has done said “I am extremely proud of my beloved Rebecca (@RAkufoAddo). Today’s commissioning of the Mother and Baby Unit at KATH is a welcome development, which will help reduce, drastically, the mortality rate of mothers and babies at the hospital.
