A former District Chief Executive of the Bolgatanga Municipality, Epsona Ayamga has said the development of the Upper East region have been dragged due to the “I Know It all” attitude been put up by the current crop of leadership of the region.

His comments come on the back of the launch of a campaign by A1 Radio to get street lights and traffic lights in the regional capital fixed one year after they have been faulty.

Epsona who was speaking to A1 Radio’s Samuel Mbura said it was unpardonable for street lights and traffic lights to be off for a year while leaders of the region sit looking unconcerned about it.

He indicated that the leadership of the region although are facing challenges have failed to consult people who have occupied various positions in the region in order to help propel the development of the region.

“I’m so disappointed and it’s because people don’t like advice. Why can’t we manage this street light? If we say people are coming from Sunyani to fix these streets lights it beats me because during my time things did not happen like that. It does not make sense to wait a whole year for contractors to come and fix street and traffic lights.”

He used the opportunity to call on leaders of the region to bury their pride and consult people with experience to help run the region well.
