A 32-year-old man, Collins Kofi Oparku has been busted by the Bolgatanga Municipal Police Command at the regional hospital for possessing fake certificates.
The suspect went to the hospital on 23rd January 2018 with forged Bachelors of Medicine and Surgery Certificates from the University of Ghana with an application letter to enable him to carry out his clinical rotation at Obstetrics and Gynecology unit.
He was considered and given the opportunity with accommodation.
But his arrest followed a complaint lodged by the Medical Director at the upper east regional hospital , Dr. Patrick Atobrah on suspicion of the certificates presented by the self-acclaimed trained medical Doctor Who was doing his clinical pending authentication from the medical and dental Council Ghana detected to be fake.
The police stormed the hospital and arrested Collins Kofi Oparku at the Doctors Flats Room B-4 .
Further investigations by the police have revealed that the suspect committed the same offence in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo region and was fined by the circuit court.
The suspect on interrogation admitted the offence and has since been processed for court 9th January, 2018.
