The Upper East Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Alhaji Mumuni Bolnaba, has rendered an apology to an association called United Residents of Kassena-Nankana East of the region for describing them as “Useless People.”
The natives of communities within the Kassena Nankana enclave organized a press conference to raise concerns over the construction of their roads by his construction firm Bolnaba Construction Company Limited which was awarded in November 2011 and has since not been completed though it was to be finished in 9 months. The press conference flared up emotions in the regional chairman who described the organizers as “useless people.”
But in an interview with A1 Radio’s Azongo Albert Wednesday, he explained that a few people got him angry that led him to describe the group as such adding that he has no problem with the people.
“What I want to talk to you today, is yesterday that they say that I have insulted some youth at the Mirigu, Serigu, Kandiga. That one that I can apologise, that is some one or two people that I make angry and then I said that. So that one that I can apologise to the people, Kandiga, Mirigu, Serigu people I can apologise to them. Am sorry that I say that they are useless,” he said.

He noted that there were people who were part of the press conference who contested for executive positions and lost and have made it a point to worry him and that caused the anger hence describing them as “useless” but added that they should be patient because their time will come.
“There are some one or two people contest and lose but I should tell them they should wait their time is coming but when they want to go and make press conference to talk on my work, I will not complain but this one I make sorry that I talk say they are useless,” he said rather in a remorseful tone.
He noted that if he does not complete the projects before elections, it will affect him. He therefore assured residents of Kandiga, Mirigu and Serigu that his outfit will complete their roads before the elections adding that all other projects under his watch are also going to be completed before election.
