The District Chief Executive for Talensi Dr. Christopher Boabil has sworn in members of the District Committee Against Illegal Mining.
At a brief ceremony at Tongo to swear in members of the committee, Dr. Boatbil said the government since 2017 has been making efforts to stop illegal mining and other forms of mining that negatively affect vegetative cover, land and water bodies.
According to the DCE, the committee was formed on the directive of President Nana Akuffo-Addo. Having congratulated members of the committee, Dr. Boabil admonished them to work diligently to fulfill the vision of government.
The eight-member committee has the DCE as its chairman. The committee is expected to provide a work plan within a week.
