The Convention People’s Party (CPP) is calling on government to revamp all defunct factories in the Upper East Region built by Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
Upper East Regional Chairman of the party, Alhaji Huseini Ibrahim emphasized the need for government to channel resources for its flagship program ‘one district one factory’ in revamping the collapsed factories build by Dr. Nkrumah.
Alhaji Huseini said this when he led executives and members of the party to tour the defunct Meat Factory in Bolgatanga East District in commemoration of the birthday celebration of Dr. Nkrumah.
“On this occasion, the CPP in Upper East Region is calling on the government to revamp all the defunct factories, example the Zuarungu Meat Factory, Tomato Factory at Pwalugu, the Rice Mill in Bolga, Tono Irrigation Facility, the cotton industry and host of initiatives that Kwame Nkrumah and the CPP initiated”, he stated.
The party also demanding a 10 percent tax of mineral resources in funding education in the country.
He said: “CPP is the only alternative for Ghana to regain its lost glory of economic and social emancipation”
