Bawku West District Director for Agriculture, Elias Atimbire has called on land owners to release farm lands to women to enable them go into an all year round farming.
According to Mr. Atimbire women who contribute immensely in food production in the country, are often denied farm lands, a situation he lamented over and said could affect the country’s food security in the future.
He has therefore appealed to land owners to release farm lands to women to enable them contribute their quota in boosting food security in the country.
“Our role in Agriculture is that, we sensitized land owners to release lands to farmers especially women. We target women because they have challenges in getting lands for farming.” He stated.
