Finally, government has provided an Office space to be used by Ghana’s Special Prosecutor and staff to execute their mandate.

Ghana’s first and current Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu is reported to have said that, he is unable to effectively deliver as he had wished and blamed that on the fact that, his office was under resourced.

Before his nomination in January 2018, Martin Amidu was involved in fighting corruption in his personal capacity which earned him the accolade “Citizen Vigilante”. He was fearless in his fight against corruption and did not spare anyone he suspected or heard to have been involved in some form corruption.

The new Special Prosecutor’s Office is a storey building with many office accommodations, located near the International Press Center on the Gamel Abdul-Nasser Avenue at Ridge in Accra.

The down floor of the building has 7 rooms which could serve as offices of other staff under the Special Prosecutor. It also has a conference room, and stores other facilities, while the top floor has nine rooms.

The new Office building for the Special Prosecutor, does not seem very ready for immediate use, but experts say, just a little work needs to be done on the windows, doors, floors and forecourt, then painting to make it conducive for use, by Mr. Amidu and supporting staff.

A1-Radio has learnt that funding for work on the Office space and rehabilitation works will commence on the Office building.
