Posters with the picture of a leading member of the New Patriotic Party and a youth leader in the Nabdam Constituency have popped up in the Nabdam constituency in the Upper East Region.
No one or group has owned up as being behind the circulation not the posters, but it is strongly believed that persons doing this are affiliated to the New Patriotic Party in the Constituency.
This will not come as a surprise to many political watchers as Mike Zuri’s has always been on the lips of youth of the area as one politician they wish would contest for the Nabdam Parliamentary seat.
He is liked people in the area for his philanthropic nature and his ability to mobilize young people in the area for development purposes.
The people behind the poster may have chosen this option after Mr. Zuri turned many private calls down. May be they are using the public approach to compel the gentleman to accept their appeals for him to contest the next NPP Nabdam Constituency Primaries.
Mr. Zuri has been one of the pillars of the NPP in the Nabdam constituency since 2000 and he is believed to be one of the financiers of the Party of in the constituency and also extend helping hand to other persons.
He is to have always said, he did not want to contest his friend, for which reason he has always turned to request down.
Meanwhile, Mr. Zuri has confirmed to a1radioonline.com that, his attention has been called to the posters and holds nothing against anyone or group behind it.
“They have every right to do that and I have every right to accept or deny their request. Since 2017 I have had the calls to make myself available and contest the primaries, but I have always turned it down, for one thing; I did not want to contest Boniface Gambilla.
The pressure keeps mounting and I think, I have to consult before a take any decision on this matter. Who knows, the voice of the people may truely be the voice of God. I will think about it.
Mike Zure and Hon. Gambilla have been good friends and NPP members in good standing for long and if Mr. Zuri happens to agree to contest the NPP Primaries then, Nabdam Constituency will witness fierce friendly contest.
Hon. Gambilla has already made his intention to contest for the Nabdam Parliamentary seat known and has even promised the National Democratic Congress Member of Parliamentary, Mark Kurt Nawaane, to meet him ” boot for boot”.
