The Member of Parliament for the Tamale Central Constituency in the Northern region, Inusah Fuseini, has blamed the New Patriotic Party for the circulation of a Social Media story about a promise allegedly made by former President John Dramani Mahama.

It has wided been reported that, Former President Mahama had promised that, Senior High School students will receive monthly allowances and Gari while in school, if Ghanaians should make him (John Mahama) the President of Ghana for the second time.

Reacting to the report on A1-Radio’s “Day Break Upper East” Show on Wednesday, January 09, the Tamale Central MP, said the report was fake and should be disregarded, saying, former President Mahama is not a novice.

“… first of all, it’s fake news, and the NPP believes in fake news. In fact, it was fake news that won them the Election. Fake news; go back and take the NPP or the news that were flashed on Ghanaian social media portals, from 2014 to 2016; fake news and that is what they got Ghanaians to believe that, everything was wrong about the John Mahama administration. Fake news, John Mahama has not been in the Volta region.” Inusah Fuseini said.

Meanwhile, the Upper East Regional Communication Director of the New Patriotic Party, Sanusi Issah has described Inusah Fuseini’s accusation as unfortunate, saying, he has no reason to blame the NPP for President Mahama’s propaganda messages and promises.

According to Sanusi Issah, whether the former President Mahama said it or not, it is clear that, the National Democratic Congress and former President Mahama, have never liked the Free SHS and the Double Track System and will do or say anything to make Ghanaians believe and accept that, the education system is in crisis.

“How can Inusah Fuseini blame the NPP for a social media story; since when has social media been limited to the NPP alone. It tells you his understanding of social media and how the NDC has used and continue to use it to circulate their propaganda messages.” Sanusi Issah noted.

Sanusi Issah was hopeful that, Ghanaians will analyse the performance of the two governments and will conclude on which government is interested in lessening the burdens of Ghanaians.

“All these things the NDC is doing and talking about, are just because of election 2020; that is all they think about. For us, leadership is not all about winning elections, it is mostly about the development of the people and their communities. The Nana Addo led government is working to ensure that, things get better for more Ghanaians and to have more educated people across the country, who can access quality health care at all times, through a functioning Health Insurance Scheme.

So they can continue with their propaganda messages, Ghanaians are watching and listening.” Sanusi Issah noted.
