Although disunity among artists in the country is an issue for discussion, the attitude amongst up and coming artists in the Upper East Region is becoming distasteful and boring to their fans. Many music lovers who follow these up-coming in the region are becoming tired of the attitude these musicians, many of whom are copying their role models blindly.
Discussing the issue with DJ Lexis on A1 Radio, the “Made in Bolga” hit maker, Sorebia described the attitude of some of his colleagues as “the dilemma of a ghost”.
“… many artists in the region value themselves more than the music they do and most times exchange their act; instead of them promoting their music, they rather promote themselves, and that is wrong in the music industry, because as a musician, music comes first before anything.” He explained.
He disclosed that, many up-coming artists in the Upper East Region prefer to spend huge amount of money on clothing to recording their songs in good Studios and also promoting them to get the attention of the public.
The hit maker said: “All that I want my colleagues to know is, branding goes beyond the clothes, shoes, and how early or late you perform or come to a colleague show. Doing good music, acquiring knowledge in the music industry and good attitude in public and towards your fans count a lot.”
He however advised up-coming artists to start attending programmes early learn to perform well to win the hearts of the public. They must also promote their songs and respect their colleagues, so as to do away with the disunity among young musicians in the region.
