Joseph Kofi Adda uses jet to Navrongo to file nomination forms…….Hmm!

Gross sumptuousness and opulence at every nook and cranny of NPP under Nana Addo and Bawumia led government. The NPP in 2016 accused Former President Mahama of opulence when he used the Presidential Jet to the Upper East region to cut sod for construction of the Bolga-Bawku road due to busy schedules.

Today, what are Ghanaians witnessing? Jets and aircrafts are used like tricycles popularly known as ” Mahama Can Do” and “Yellow Yellow” in Upper East and Northern region respectively.

President Nana Addo abandoned State acquired Presidential jet and chartered a luxurious German jet, Airbus A318-11 to watch his fourivte English club, Tottenham Hotspur UEFA Champions League final match against Liverpool on June 1, 2019. This cost Ghana a staggering $17,000.00 (seventeen thousand dollars) per hour,in Ghana Cedis, President Nana Addo used GHc 91,800.00 which is equivalent to 918 million old Cedis per hour. Couldn’t this huge money channel into youth development to breed young entrepreneurs.

It is not common in Ghana to see helicopters at accidents scenes even if an accident is precarious, yet the political class will use them at the expense of the tax payer.

It is high time Ghanaian leaders began to think outside the box and create things new derivative of nothing. The NPP government and communicators shamefully defended this with a wobbling excuse that the abandoned Ghana’s Presidential jet takes 14 people while the rented luxurious jet takes 18 people. The NPP government never on any platform talked of the President’s safety as an excuse.

However, granted that the hired jet have four(4) extra seats, the question therefore, is, how many people was the President travelling with? It is reported that the luxurious jet used by President Nana Addo was packed with family members and few government officials. Power sweet, abi?

This movement by Nana has undoubtedly emboldened several government officials including ministers of state and Vice President Bawumia to engage in similar acts in Ghana. In the Upper East region, two government appointees have since demonstrated sumptuousness in usage of jets.

Last year, the Deputy Minister for Attorney and Justice, Joseph Dendiok Kpenka is reported to have flew to Tempane with a jet for the mother’s funeral.

The said jet was stationary at the funeral ground for four (4) solid days. The most current incidence has to do with the Minister of Aviation, Joseph Kofi Adda who equally landed at Navrongo from the Ghana Air Forces helicopter to file his nomination forms to contest the Navrongo Central Constituency seat in the NPP Parliamentary Primaries.

Isn’t it ridiculous? These are the very people who promised Ghanaians of protecting the public purse. In the contrary, President Nana Addo and his appointees are busily milking the state and looting the scarce resources of Ghana for their own egoistic deals.

In fact, the use of jet by Hon. Joseph Kofi Adda to file his nomination forms is a classical demonstration of abuse of power, pillage, opulence and waste of state resources.

This must not continue. Ghanaians will definitely show Nana Addo the EXIT. The good people of Tempane and Navrongo Central will equally show the duo the wide EXIT.

Ghanaians are watching!
