Navrongo Central Constituency Secretary eulogizes Kofi Adda

The Navrongo Central Constituency Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Moses Amoah has eulogized the Former Member of Parliament for the Navrongo Central Constituency, Joseph Kofi Adda.

Mr. Amoah stated that Kofi Adda was loved by the grassroots and by even people across the political divide. He said the former Aviation Minister contributed immensely to the development of the Kassena Nankana Municipality.

Speaking on the Day Break Upper East show on A1 Radio ahead of the burial of the late MP which is scheduled on Saturday 12th February 2022, Mr. Amoah said every community in Navrongo Central benefited from the initiatives and infrastructure of Kofi Adda.

He said “every community in Navrongo Central you go, the legacies of Kofi Adda can visibly be seen. He was loved by the grassroots and all political parties. He paid school fees for students, jobs for some youth, constructed health centres and other programmes that the masses in Navrongo Central benefited”.

“Kofi was the person that was down to earth and very frank with everything he did,” he continued.

A Communications Team Member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Abdullah Salifu touching on the Funeral of the Late MP, said Kofi Adda was one political figure that commanded respect from both NDC and NPP.

According to Abdullah, though Kofi Adda may have his weaknesses, he contributed his quota to the development of Navrongo and the country at large.

Joseph Kofi Adda died at age 65 on 14th October 2021 in Accra following a short illness.

Kofi Adda won the Navrongo Central Parliamentary seat in 2003 in a by-election after the death of the then sitting MP, John Achuliwor and subsequently retained his seat in the 2004 general elections and served in various capacities under the Kufuor administration.

He retained the seat in 2008 when the NPP lost the general elections but lost it in 2012 to the National Democratic Congress candidate Mark Woyongo and won it back in the 2016 election.

Kofi Adda lost in the NPP’s parliamentary primary ahead of the 2020 election.
