Minister assures the provision of logistics to security Personnel at the borders

Upper East Regional Minister, Tangoba Abayage says her outfit is working tirelessly to improve the logistical needs of the security agencies at the various borders in the Region to prevent any possible spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Minister said this when’s she led a team to inspect the disinfection exercise carried out at various market centers in the Region.

Madam Tangoba also visited some unapproved routes into Ghana from Togo and Burkina Faso at the Pusiga and Kulungugu borders.

The visit was purposely to ascertain the work of security agencies at the border areas and to ensure that the President’s directives on the border closure were adhered to.

“ I commend our security agencies for manning the unapproved border routes under such harsh conditions to ensure we are safe. My outfit is working tirelessly to make sure that some of the challenges confronting the border zones will be addressed”, she added.

She stressed that “I inform the interior minister, as well as some relevant authorities about the challenges you people face here and I’m sure things will change”.

She, however, commended residents in the Region for the strict adherence to the directives to stay away from markets at the time of the disinfection exercise.

Assistant Sector Commander at the Pusiga border, Experience Koudjo Blewuada also assured the Minister of their preparedness on the border patrols.
