Police serves notice of mass burial for unclaimed dead bodies

Dead bodies that have not been identified and collected at the Upper East Regional Hospital morgue,will be disposed through a mass burial exercise. This is according to the Ghana Police Service in the region.

In a public announcement copied A1 News and signed by Upper East Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service, ASP Okyere Fianko said “The Bolgatanga Municpal Police Command in collaboration with the Upper East Regional Hospital will embark on a mass burial of unclaimed dead bodies kept in the morgue for preservation since 2017.

In view of this ,the general public is hereby informed to contact the District Police Command or the regional hospital’s authorities for identification and collection of the bodies of their relatives within twenty (21) days this announcement for burial”.

The public is hereby reminded that,failure to identify and collect the bodies within the 21 days of this announcement will lead the Police ,Regional Hospital and Environmental Health Department to organize the mass burial to decongest the hospital morgue.

These bodies include,those collected from Bolgatanga,Bongo,Zuarungu and Tongo District in various cases from January to April 2020.
