Head Coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Herbert Addo has chide the Ghana Football Association for its inability to draw a specific timeline for the start of the league season.
The FA’s inability to point out specific date for the start of the 2014/2015 league season has been an issue of concern for various club administrators and coaches. The head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak has waded into the issue and has hit the FA hard stating emphatically that the FA lacks planning.
Speaking to Metro TV in an interview, the coach disclosed that the Ghana Football Association lacks planning because a date has not been fixed for the league by now, stifling the activities of all the teams participating in the First Capital Plus Bank Premier league.
He lamented that, the administrative sluggishness does not augur well for competitions because some teams do not have adequate resources and depend on the schedule of the league season to determine when to start their pre-season.
The coach noted that the FA’s inability to point to a date for the start of the league has a trickling effect on the teams because teams which are financially sound always have the edge in the start of the season whereas those without sound finances tend to be disadvantaged. Kotoko which was at par with other teams at the dawn last season’s campaign because they started their pre-season at an early date was cited as an example.
The coach charged the Ghana Football Association to take good examples from European football Association’s administrative and managerial skills to help make Ghana’s league as competitive as those in Europe.
Ghana league clubs are in the dark over the start of the Premier league although the league has been tentatively fixed for September with a yet-to-be fixed date by a yet-to-be attended congress.
