Sports Minister Meets Marcel Desailly Over Improvement of Sports Facilities

The Minister for youth and sports, Mahama Ayariga met with EX-France captain, Marcel Desailly at the Lizzy Sports complex to discuss the way forward for the development of sports and sports facilities in the country.

The former deputy minister of Information and Media Relations met with EX-France Captain, Marcel Desailly, on the International youth day at the Lizzy sports complex to deliberate on how to develop and improve sports facilities in the country.

Marcel Desailly called on the government to partner private entities since it is the only recipe for the development and improvement of sports and sports facilities in the country.

He revealed that “the lizzy complex receives over three thousand people from schools, churches and corporate organizations each week proving Ghanaians love for sports.”

Hon Mahama Ayariga promised to make reality the ideas espoused by the Ex-France Captain to help improve the sports facilities in the country.

Hon. Mahama Ayariga on his appointment as the substantive Minister of youth and sports has visited various sporting facilities and has met with various stakeholders in the sports fraternity to deliberate on issues affecting the development of sports and sporting facilities in the country. Among the sporting facilities he has visited include the Azumah Nelson sports complex and the Winneba Sports College both of which are in deplorable states.
