Flag bearer hopeful of the People’s National Convention, (PNC), Samson Asaki Awingobit says, the party needs total restructuring and rebranding to make it an alternative choice for victory in the upcoming 2020 general elections.

According to him, the party over the past years has lacked a candidate committed to revitalizing the party to attract massive electorates for its electoral victory to govern.

Addressing Regional executives at the PDC party office in Bolgantage, in the Upper East Region, Flagbearer hopeful, Mr. Asaki Awingobit appealed to delegates to vote massively for him to led the party to victory come the general elections.

Expressing shock at the party’s performance in the 2016 elections where the party had only 22,000 votes, Mr. Awingobit was optimistic of changing the narrative when voted as the Flag bearer .

“PNC is a minority party in the country whether we like it or not. So, in an election year, there will always be that internal wrangling but after which, we need to unite the party for the better.

I’m here to do that, to build and unify the party. Those of you who were at the party office in Accra, in fact, you saw the masses that came out to support me and the party; that is what has been lacking in the PNC”.

Mr. Awingobit reiterated that, restructuring and rebranding the party’s structure and communication team was crucial for the party’s electoral victory.

“There are people who have the vision and we cannot just sit on and look but have to do something. So, if you elect me, the first thing I will do for the PNC is to reform the National Communications team.

It would not be only Bernard Monnah, Atik and Co; No, there are others who are competent as well. We will form communication teams at the district and rural levels; they will be visible in the radio stations to propagate the issues that will lead the party to victory come 2020 elections”.

The PNC Flagbearer pledged to implement programmes and policies that will benefit the ordinary Ghanaian when voted to lead the country as President.
