The Northern Regional Chairman of the Football Association, Alhaji Abu Hassan Rhyzo, has described the covid-19 pandemic as the cause of delay in executing most of the activities lined up by the FA in the Region.
Speaking on A1 Radio’s What’s The Score sports show Monday August 17, Alhaji Hassan said; “Covid-19 has come to stall our projections and has affected our take off plan.
We had plans of building the capacity of the clubs in areas such as club management, financial management, medical resuscitation during matches and taking our media through football reporting.”
He, however, revealed that the various committees put in place by the association are already working to ensure smooth take off of sport activities in the country.
Alhaji Hassan stressed, “On the sidelines, we have put committees in place and those committees are already working. The administration itself is also working.”
Domestic football in Ghana was put on hold in March 2020 as part of measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
Restrictions are being eased gradually and hopefully football will resume soon.
