KOFI ANNAN CENTER OF EXCELLENCE DEVELOPS EDUCATIONAL SOFTWARE

The Advance Information Technology Institute of the Ghana India Kofi Annan Center of Excellence in ICT (AITI-KACE), in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region, has developed a software that is useful for teaching and Learning purposes.

The software, known as EduNos operates just like Microsoft Office. However, it’s advanced tailor-made tools are designed to facilitate effective teaching and learning for students at Primary and Junior High School levels.

Manager of AITI-KACE for the Northern Belt, Christian Danso told A1 News that EduNos is a free and open source software, indicating that its usage and maintenance is free of charge.

“This software has come in handy to make sure that software is accessible and affordable for all schools to use.” Mr. Danso asserted.

EnuNos provides real time solution to enhance effective teaching and learning as Mr. Danso gave a breakdown of the packages the software comprises.

According to him, the packages include; Educational games, Online dictionaries, Fraction learning aids, Molecular graphics and Modeling systems.

The rest are Simulation such as acid base tests, Arithmetic, Atom Interactions, and Gases among others.

Mr. Danso further revealed that EduNos was available for free download on the official website AITA-KACE.

The Advance Information Technology Institute of the Ghana India Kofi Annan Center of Excellence in ICT (AITI-KACE) is an agency under the Ministry of Communications, mandated to provide capacity building services, consultancy services, research and innovation into ICT and other related areas.

Being in existence since 2oo3, the institute operates in Accra, Sunyani and Bolgatanga.
