Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bolgatanga East Constituency, Dr. Dominic Ayine has condemned the defacing of posters belonging to his political opponent, the Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Rev. Emmanuel Abugre Abole, describing it as an act of violence.

It would be recalled that a source close to Rev. Abole recently accused supporters of the incumbent MP of being responsible for disfiguring billboards and posters bearing the image of the NPP parliamentary Candidate and President Akufo Addo.

But responding to the allegations made against him on A1 Radio, Dr. Ayine indicated that he was winning this year’s election and that his supporters did not need to engage in any act of violence to secure his victory.

According to him, disfiguring the posters which as well bears the image of the President of Ghana was a sign of disrespect.

He therefore called for the arrest of such culprits; even if they are supporters of his party.

“I advise that they should be on the look-out and if they arrest somebody and the person is an NDC person, I’m not going to look for bail for such a person because I’ve already told them that is a no go area for me. What will win us the elections is not the disfigurement of the posters of our opponent. It is our message and the work that we have done in Bolga East that will do it for us.”
