CALLS FOR MY RESIGNATION LAUGHABLE – BUILSA SOUTH DCE TELLS NDC

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Builsa South, Daniel Kwame Gariba, has described calls made by members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Builsa South constituency for his resignation as laughable.

The NDC had earlier called for the head of Mr. Gariba over what they said was his failure to deliver on his mandate to serve the interest of the people.

In a statement, NDC’s Communication Officer for Builsa South Constituency, Anthony Asikisimi, citied the DCE’s refusal to approve requests made by the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Dr. Clement Apaak, to use part of his Common Fund to drill boreholes for the constituents.

But responding to the allegations against him on A1 Radio, Mr. Gariba who doubles as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the area in the upcoming December elections said the calls for his resignation were politically motivated and personal vendetta being carried out on him by his political opponent.

Mr. Gariba denied knowledge of any incident relative to his refusal to approve requests by the MP to use part of his common fund to drill boreholes for the constituents; as alleged by the NDC.

He added that similar claims had earlier been made against him by the MP which was reported to him; but when he (Dr. Apaak) was asked during a District Assembly Meeting to substantiate those claims, the MP denied all of such.

Mr. Gariba therefore urged the constituents of Builsa South to disregard what he said are attempts by the NDC “to throw dust into their eyes.”
