BOLGA CHURCH OF PENTECOST LAUNCHES AGENT OF PEACE CAMPAIGN

Ahead of the impending general elections, The Bolgatanga Area of the Church of Pentecost (COP) in the Upper East Region, has launched what is called “Agent of Peace Campaign.

The move which is part of a nationwide exercise is designed to sensitize its members on the need for peace; thereby encouraging them to become agents of peace before, during and after this year’s elections.

In his Address, The Head of the Church of Pentecost in Bolgatanga Area, Apostle Wilberforce Nkrumah-Agyeman, said the church in collaboration with other agencies and bodies is embarking on the peace campaign to sensitize especially the youth on the need for peace in the country amidst the current political atmosphere.

Describing the Upper East Region as “being fantastic when it come to peace,”  he urged all agencies, bodies and all well meaning Ghanaians to play their roles diligently to ensure peace before during and after the December 7 elections.

Members of the church were joined in the launch by COP pastors in the area, Upper East Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, William Obeng Adarkwa, Public Relations Officer of the Upper East Regional Police Command, ASP David Fianko Okyere, as well as a representative from the Upper East Regional Chief Imam.

The rest were Chairman of the Upper East Regional Peace Council and Political Party Representatives.

The invited agencies and bodies took turns to commend the Church Of Pentecost for the initiative to promote peace in the country; and pledged their commitment to the course of the Agent of Peace Campaign.
