The New Patriotic Party in the Upper East Region has expressed confidence in winning the Bongo parliamentary seat occupied by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Regional Communications Officer of NPP, Sanusi Issah, speaking on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East program, observed that Bongo constituency which is widely known as a strong hold of the NDC is giving-in to the NPP; for which reason he is optimistic his party will snatch the seat from NDC come December 7.

“…I am well convinced the Bongo seat has fallen for us.” He said.

Citing a walk event organized by the NDC as part of its campaign activities in Bongo constituency, Mr. Sanusi noted that the caliber of high profile personalities who participated in the exercise indicated that all was not well with NDC in the constituency.

Parading such personalities for the exercise according to him further signifies that the NPP Parliamentary Candidate, who doubles as District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, Peter Ayimbisa Ayamga, was doing well.

“The fact that they (NDC) have paraded all these people shows that all is not well at all. The caliber of people mentioned that they have come in to help tells me Hon. Peter Ayimbisa is really doing well.” He stated.

The communication Officer continued that under the leadership of Mr. Ayimbisa as DCE, constituents of Bongo have become aware that they could achieve more development; adding that about 100 people from the hometown of the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Edward Bawa, have reportedly defected to the NPP.

But Communication Member of the NDC, Abdallah Salifu, believes the works done by the Mr. Bawa and his party in Bongo constituency are evident for all to see; and will result in a an overwhelming endorsement of the NDC  Parliamentary Candidate and the party as a whole.
