Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has refuted claims suggesting that the New Patriotic party (NPP) Administration, is poorly managing the country’s economy.
Economic Experts as well as opposition political parties have reportedly expressed concerns over what they described as failure on the part of government to exercise financial discipline in the management of the country’s economy.
But Dr. Bawumia in rebuttal said Ghana’s exchange rate depreciation at the moment is the lowest in an election year since 1992.
Despite the apparent effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on Ghana’s economy and many others across the world, Dr. Bawumia, who is the head of the Economic Management Team in the country assured that they are on top of issues in terms of effective management of Ghana’s economy.
Taking a swipe at the main opposition political party, the Vice President said “I still stand by my words that the NDC are incompetent managers of the economy.”
He made these comments in an interview on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East Program, on Day 3 of his Campaign Tour to the Upper East Region.
