SAKARABISI RESIDENTS GRATEFUL FOR NEWLY CONSTRUCTED HEALTH CENTER

Residents of Sakarabisi a farming community in the Bolgatanga East District of the Upper East Region have expressed their profound gratitude jubilated over the completion and commissioning of a health center in the community.

At a colourful inaugation of the facility, residents who spoke to A1 Radio could not hide their excitement and gratitude for the newly constructed health center.

“I am a happy man today because our people used to travel to very far distance before getting medical attention so I am very happy today that we have gotten our own.” Nsoh said.

Another resident, Dorcas, said “In fact this health center will indeed help me and my colleague Woman because we suffer too much in getting health care.”

Ayambila added that “I am very proud that finally, today we have gotten our Clinic, this means healthcare will be accessible to us I am very happy.”

In 2019, the Bolgatanga East District Chief Executive (DCE), Rev. Emmanuel Abugri Abole, cut sod for the construction of the health center including accommodation for health workers who will be deploy to work at the facility.

Speaking on Thursday at the inauguration ceremony, Rev. Abole stated that health is life and very crucial in every country; the reason for the assembly’s swift response when it received the request for a clinic from the Sarakabisi community.

“Health is life, health is wealth and no country can attain economic and social prosperity without tackling and effecting its health care delivery system because human health is a critical ingredients for national productivity.” He said.

Giving some details about the newly constructed clinic, he said “This project was made possible by the funding support from the Ministry of Special Initiatives and so Bolgatanga East district was not left out in getting our fair share of the provision of health facilities. Remember the Ministry of Special initiative is one of the ministries implementing the on constituency one million dollars flagship initiatives. The facility is estimated to cost over Ghc1,095,000.00.”

He further admonish the District Health Directorate to take very good care of the newly constructed facility; aside posting qualified health personnel to handle the facility to ensure that it is properly managed.

He also expressed gratitude to the Chief and people of Sakarabisi for their co-operation and cordiality towards the contractor during the construction of the facility.

As a new district, Rev. Abole assured of government’s readiness to undertake more developmental projects to benefit the people.

On his part, the Bolgatanga East District Director, Eugene Osei Yeboah, expressed satisfaction that the people of the Sakarabisi have finally gotten a health facility, saying it will go a long way to help the community as well as the health directorate.

He also pledged to keep an eye on the facility and it management to ensure it is put to good use.
