A defeated flagbearer aspirant of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Samsom Asaki Awingobit, has advice losers of the ongoing presidential and parliamentary elections to accept defeat and rally behind the winners to develop the country.
According to him Ghana is bigger than any political party and for that matter, any acts of violence by defeated candidates and their supporters will further worsen the country’s poverty level.
He made these remarks when he cast his vote at the Kusanaba former council office in the Zebilla constituency of the Upper East Region.
Mr Awingobit who was accompanied with his wife to the polling station, advice the youth to be circumspect and not behave untoward which could affect the beauty of the election.
Mr. Awingobit who failed to get the nod to lead the PNC during the delegates election obtained 789 votes.
Rev. Samuel Adjei Baah had 465 and former Member of Parliament (MP) for Bolgatanga Central Constituency, David Apasera pulled 1,315 to emerge winner of the flagbearership race.
