When God calls you to do His work, take out the love for money – Bishop Aziz

Bishop Samuel Aziz Danladi of Converted Christian Ministry International (CCMI) in Bolgatanga, has entreated upcoming ministers of God not to see money as the answer to their problems; rather, persevere in the work of ministry.

According to him, when God calls you to do His work, He gives you dominion and power, and not material things hence, money should not be the answer to God’s work.

Speaking on A1 Radio, Bishop Aziz recalled that when he was called by God into the work of ministry, at some point, he had to sell all his belongings to keep the work of God going.

“Yes, my father was a rich man but when God called me, I never looked at my father’s riches; rather, what God was doing for me. At some point, I had to sell all my possessions including my motorbike, car, and other things just to do God’s work. That was; preaching in the streets of Bolgatanga. The only tangible thing after selling my belongings I was able to buy was a satellite TV decoder to be watching Emmanuel TV; but all went into organizing God’s work.”

Responding to why he did not resort to seeking help from his father, Bishop Aziz noted that though, his father was ever ready to render support to him and his ministry, there were things he wanted to focus more on alone.

“My old man was ever ready to assist me in anything, but really, I never wanted. One day I was in the house when Rahman. My younger brother called me and said Papa {their father} wanted to see me. I went and my father gave my brother one plot of land around the Estates {a suburb of Bolgatanga} to be given to me. He gave me the documents and I thanked him for giving me the plot of land.

When I took it away I realized there was a problem on that land. So, I thought of selling it to look for another place where I could have enough space to build a church because one plot can’t build a church. I had a serious problem selling that land. I sold it and later the people came and said I was a fraudster. So I had a serious battle with that and by the grace of God, I got money to settle the matter. I returned the papers to my father and thanked him again for the land.”

He added that his father went on to offer him a truck to facilitate the movement of chairs and other church materials to and fro his place of worship in Bolgatanga.

Bishop Aziz, therefore, emphasized that though, his father was initially against his move to become a Christian, he (the father) later came to appreciate the call of God upon his life and accepted him as such.

“I visited him when he was alive. The family is witness to that. I could buy bags of rice, provisions, got an envelope and put a parcel of money in it to see him; I knelt before him to give him the presents. I remember the day I was to be consecrated as a Bishop; that night, I visited him and knelt before him and asked for his blessing. He said ‘wow!! That was a good thing.’ I said Papa, I’ve come for your blessing and he put his hand on my forehead and said go. God is with you and I said, Amen. And that was how my father and I had been with each other until the last moment, his last breath.” He narrated.
