The Bolgatanga area superintendent of The Apostolic Church Ghana (TAC), Pastor Dennis Atta Boateng, has admonished Christians to live a well pleasing life to God if they wish to enjoy the year 2021.

In his sermon during the 31st watch-night service at the Bolgatanga Central Assembly of the church, Pastor Boateng said it is a righteous life that attracts God’s blessings.

Speaking on the theme; “If the Lord is pleased with us, he will take us to the land”, The Man of God said 2021 will be a year full of blessings but it will take people who are willing to let go lies, alcoholism, hatred, sexual immoralities and all kinds of unrighteousness to realize it.

Pastor Boateng took the scripture reading from the book of Numbers 14:8-9 and read as follows; “[8]And if the lord is pleased with us, he will bring us safely into that land and give it to us. It is a rich land flowing with milk and honey.

[9]Do not rebel against the lord, and don’t be afraid of the people of the land. They are only helpless prey to us! They have no protection, but the lord is with us! Don’t be afraid of them!”

He said the New Year will be a year full of ‘milk and honey’ like the land promised the Israelites by God, however it will take the ‘Calebs and the Joshuas’ to eat and drink the good of the year.

He emphasized the fear of God and deliberate effort to please Him as the principal attributes needed to harvest the ‘milk and honey’ in the year 2021.

The church auditorium which was full to capacity experienced charged atmosphere of worship, singing and dancing in a jubilant mood as one could easily tell how excited these congregants were.

New Year Eve is usually marked with a lot of people attending church services dubbed; crossover, watch-night, all night and so on.

Whilst some go to church to offer thanks to God for a successful year, others celebrate in club houses, drinking spots etc with the usual sounds of fire crackers.  Wherever one keeps vigil to welcome a New Year, New Year Eve will continue to be a night of celebration.
