The growing trend where some ladies demand favors; particularly money, from guys after three days of dating is raising concerns amongst guys in the Bolgatanga Municipality of the Upper East Region.
The behavior, according to the guys, is wrong; and makes them question the reality of love anytime they are dating a lady.
In a random interaction with some guys in the Bolgatanga Municipality, they disclosed that the attitude is one of the reasons majority of them usually delay in relationships and do not think of settling down for marriage.
A guy by name Dosty Lawrence said “Me, I will not lie to you, but this attitude amongst girls is too much. Nowadays, you can’t even call a girl to say anything to her if your pocket is dried. Will you believe that just some days ago, I called this girl, we vibe and up till now, the girl has been asking me of one request or the other? Charlie! I’m done with this wahala, why, am I her bank account?”
“I usually have this mentality that town girls are the only ones that have such attitudes, but I’m wrong. Last week, I went to one community around Bolga-Estate; bro, just three days now, she has been asking me for money as if I told her my father owns world bank. She is doing like she’s selling herself. Bro, I tell you that there is no real love anymore, all is about money and how much you can give to get what you want.” Richmond, another guy lamented.
According to Chris, “To say I have one particular girl that I truly trust despite the numerous ones I have would be a lie. And do you know why, because they are all ‘give me this, give me that girls’, so, I don’t believe they are people who are ready for serious relationship. They don’t talk of building a future; rather, how to paint their faces and change hair styles.”
Meanwhile, some ladies who reacted in an interaction with this reporter have expressed shock at the claims of the guys.
According to them, if guys want to know why they request for favors from the beginning of a dating relationship, the guys should also answer why they usually want to have sexual intercourse with them the first day they visit their homes.
Rita, as she prefers to be called said, “Imagine; if I was walking along the road dress anyhow; would you like to approach me? So as a girl, I need to look good and dress well. Who should provide for me to appear good and you will see and then call me? They should be answering the question themselves not girls.”
