The government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, last year declared 2020 as a year of roads.
But delivering his inaugural speech on Thursday, January 7, 2021, as newly elected president for a second term, President Akufo-Addo once again declared the year 2021 as a second year of roads.
“We defined last year as a year of roads. This year will be the second year of roads as we continue with our focus on dealing with the deficits in our roads infrastructure.”
He further stated that “The development of our rail sector on which considerable resources and energies are being devoted will open up the country and also help realize the goal of regional and continental integration.”
