Member of Parliament for Builsa South Constituency in the Upper East Region, says some of Akufo-Addo’s nominees will not survive at the committee level due to their abysmal behaviors exhibited in his previous government.

Speaking on A1 Radio’s Morning Show, Dr. Apaak said due to the current dynamics and numbers that were evenly split, it would not be the usual business as in the past.

“As NDC, our aim is always Ghana first and with that trust that Ghanaian has for us, we will make sure we protect the integrity of Ghana and will vet the ministers accordingly. Those who have questionable characters will have to reassess themselves because they will not be allowed in. Giving the current dynamics and numbers, evenly split; it would not be business as usual. The way parliament works is that when you bring forth a motion and it requires a vote and if it is 50/50, it has to be appealed, so even at committee level a lot of them will not even make it there.”

The legislator noted that the likes of the Former Minister of Special Initiative, Hawa Koomson, and her colleagues who once put the country into ridicule will not even make it to the gate of the vetting committee.

Dr. Apaak however called on the public to have trust in the work of the Vetting Committee as their will is the will of the entire populace.
