Member of Parliament for Bawku Central Constituency under the ticket of National Democratic Congress (NDC)in the Upper East Region , Mahama Ayariga has made an assertion that, prejudicial assumption of NDC MPs going after nominees appearing before the appointment committee of Parliament will be wrong.

He makes the point that, in some instances in parliamentary decision taking, it will interest the public to know that even their own colleagues voted against them based on their conviction not on partizan lines.

Mr. Ayariga cited the recent chaotic election of Speaker of Parliament where some NPP MPs were reported to have voted against a candidate presented by their side.

The Bawku Central law maker who was speaking to developments ahead of the vetting of ministerial nominees on PM Express on Joy News Channel Wednesday, added that ,his side will strive to do their best in the vetting process and will not do any “mediocre work”.

He has however indicated that ,the past conducts of nominees will be factors to be considered in their approval or rejection.

President Nana Akufo-Addo has presented 46 Ministerial positions which nominees are expected to be vetted by the Vetting and Appointment Committee of Parliament starting on 10th February, 2021.
