Bolgatanga based second division club, Bolga FC will clash with Boison FC on Sunday, February 7, in a friendly encounter, as part of its preparation for the regional division two league.

Bolga FC did not perform as expected in almost all the friendly matches the club played last year. Sunday’s match with Boison FC will provide another opportunity to prove the club’s readiness for the regional league. As a result of their club’s poor performance last year, many pundits have doubted the club’s capabilities.

Despite the challenges, Bolga FC proved doubters wrong by qualifying for the Upper East Regional Football Association pre-season tournament which came off at the Paga Town Park in December 2020 where the club finished 4th out of 8 teams.

Bolga FC’s played its first match in the pre-season tournament with Yelwoko Fire strikers and won by a goal to nil. The club then lost by a goal to nil to Kassena-Nankana United in the second match and drew 1:1 in the third match against Saboro FC.

Bolga FC finished second in their group and had to play for 3rd and 4th place in line with the pre-season tournament rules and lost 2:0 to Toende United from Zebilla.

This Sunday match between Bolga FC and Boison FC at the St. John’s Park is a Bolgatanga derby and provides a very good opportunity for the two Bolgatanga based clubs to prove their superiority in the municipality.

Management of Bolga FC has promised to treat this match with all the seriousness it requires to enable the club to occupy its rightful position as the best division two side in the Bolgatanga Municipality.
