The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Bolgatanga Central Constituency in the 2020 election, Rex Asanga, has stated that the creation of Bolga-West Constituency out of the Bolgatanga Central Constituency is long overdue.
There have been recent calls on government to consider carving the western zone of the existing Bolgatanga Central Constituency into a separate constituency.
In an interview with A1 Radio, Mr. Asanga observed that Bolgatanga Central is a relatively large constituency; advocating that a separate constituency for the people of Sherigu, Sumburungu and their environs will ensure a fair distribution of resources for the development of the area.
Not long ago, Bolgatanga East constituency, among others was created across the country.
The Upper East Region currently has 15 constituencies.
