Four persons have been killed in a fatal road accident at Sapa on the Bole-Bamboi road in the Savanna Region of Ghana.
An ambulance driver who gave his name as Emmanuel Tekye Tackson alias Little, narrates to www.a1radioonline.com that he chanced on the accident on his way from Nandom in the Upper West Region to Apam in the Central Region where he works at St. Joseph Catholic Hospital. This he said happened at about 4:30pm Friday February 5, 2021.
According to him, the vehicle, a Sunyan mini bus, burst one of its rear tyres and as a result, the driver lost control leading to the accident.
According to Mr Tekye, there were 17 passengers on board the mini bus. The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Bole Municipal Hospital where the survivors are also receiving treatment.
He expressed his disappointment in the community members of Sapa, who, instead of rescuing the victims, rather engaged in filming and taking pictures of the accident scene.
Mr Tekye lamented, “The people in the community didn’t do well at all. When the accident occurred, instead of rescuing the victims, they [villagers] were rather there taking pictures. I had to shout on them to help me rescue the victims and take them to the hospital. That was very bad.”
