Photos of 2 suspected robbers who have been allegedly lynched at Gelwongo, a trading community between Ghana and Burkina Faso, are circulating on various social media platforms among residents in the Upper East Region.
In an accompanying audio narrating the incident in the Gurune language, the suspects were alleged to have stolen two motorbikes but were trailed by the residents in Gelwongo and were lynched.
The gory photos believed to have been captured by an eyewitness after the lynching show the unidentified victims lying in an unconscious state with visible wounds on their heads due to the mob attack.
Information available to A1Radioonline.com reveals the deceased believed to be in their late 20s hail from Yua, a suburb of Sirigu and Bolgatanga respectively; both in the Upper East Region.
According to our source, the incident happened on Sunday, February 7, 2021.
