Man City broke Anfield curse

Manchester City has beaten Liverpool 1-4 to end their winningless record at Anfield. The win puts City 5 points clear of their neighbors.

The mouthwatering fixture started dull in the first 45 minutes of the game, as the two recent EPL champions had a stalemate result in the first half.

It was then followed with goals-galore 2nd half with both teams knocking and putting goals at the back of each other nets. City’s Turkish-German midfielder Iker Gundogan was awarded a chance from the penalty spot after Raheem Sterling dazzled and dribbled past both Alexander Arnold and Fabinho in the box.

Ilkay Gundogan scored twice after initially blazing a penalty over the crossbar, while Mohamed Salah equalized for Liverpool with his own spot-kick.

Klop’s Liverpool thought to be back in the game with the goal from the Egyptian, but two howlers from their Brazilian goalkeeper was enough to put City in complete control of the game.

City punished Liverpool on their mistakes as Gundogan and Sterling scored respectively to the visitors in the lead once again.

The match turned into Phil Foden show as the English teenager collects a pass from Gabriel Jesus, runs and cuts on Robertson before pulling a trigger on the 83rd minute to put the tie to bed in favor of his side.

The victory means City are now 5 points clear of United with a game in hand and ended their 17 winningless outings to Liverpool.
