Former Member of Parliament for the Kumbungu Constituency in the Northern Region, Ras Mubarak lost his bid to get another national position. He could not secure the Council of State position to represent the Northern Region.
Ras Mubarak did not poll any vote at all from the 32 delegates that represented the 16 local authorities.
Traditional ruler, Chief Zung Mahamud Tahiru, obtained 23 votes from the 32 valid votes cast and will be representing the Northern Region on the Council of State.
Another contender and renowned banker, Alhassan Andani secured 8 votes.
