Former President John Dramani Mahama, as part of his commitment to strengthening educational resources within the Islamic community, has donated a seven-seater vehicle to the Islamic Education Unit of the Ghana Education Service (GES).
The presentation took place in Tamale during Mahama’s campaign tour of the Northern Region, further underscoring his dedication to enhancing educational support for Islamic institutions.
Abdul Karim Bapuni, General Manager of the Islamic Education Unit, received the vehicle on behalf of the organization.
Expressing gratitude, Bapuni highlighted the positive impact of Mahama’s gesture on the Unit’s operations.
“This vehicle will greatly enhance our mobility and our ability to engage more effectively with educational initiatives across the country,” he noted, underscoring the timeliness of the donation in improving outreach efforts and operational efficiency.
This contribution is part of Mahama’s broader efforts to support Islamic educational institutions. Earlier this week, during the National Muslim Conference in Accra, he presented another vehicle to the National Chief Imam to assist the Zakat and Sadaqa Trust Fund of Ghana, an organization dedicated to community support and charitable initiatives.
This gesture reflects Mahama’s ongoing commitment to uplifting Islamic education and philanthropic activities nationwide.
In line with his outreach, he recently provided motorbikes to five Hausa-language radio stations in Accra. These motorbikes are expected to strengthen the stations’ operational capacity, allowing them to better serve the Hausa-speaking community by delivering timely news, fostering community engagement, and promoting unity among diverse groups.
Through these initiatives, Mahama’s campaign emphasizes the importance of inclusive support for education and media, particularly within minority communities.
