Karela are back on top of the league

Karela United are back on the top of the Ghana Premier League after defeating Ebusua Dwarfs 1-2 in Cape Coast yesterday.

Karela lost their league position last weekend Kotoko, a defeat that ended their four years unbeaten run at the Aiyinase Stadium.

But the 2-1 victory away from home yesterday means, coach Evans Adotey side has now returned on top of the log once again.

Two first-half goals from Karela’s Midfielder Umar Bashiru and current league-leading top scorer Taylor Diawisie respectively were enough to secure the 3 points in the bag for the visitors.

Dwarf pull one back late in the second half through midfielder Benjamin Acquah, but the goal appeared to be a mere consolation for the host.

The win sent Karela back on top of the league table, with leaders Kotoko set to be in action in Caf Confederation Cup qualifiers against Algerian side Es Setif.
