Savelugu hospital in partial closure after 60 staff tested positive for Covid-19

The management of Savelugu Municipal Hospital in the Northern Region has announced a partial closure of the hospital after 60 staff tested positive for Covid-19.

Following increasing cases of the virus in the municipality, management of the hospital undertook a mass testing of staff and the results of 60 of them came positive.

The hospital has since limited its services to only the emergency unit to enableĀ  management disinfect the hospital.

In a memo seen by A1 Radio, management of the hospital has announced that effective Monday February 22, 2021, the hospital will be closed down partially for two weeks due to an upsurge of Covid-19 within the Municipality.

The memo indicated that the decision by management was to reduce staff – client interaction and also to give way for disinfection of the entire hospital so as to reduce the rate of transmission.

While assuring the public that they will strive to provide quality health care services and ensure the safety of the people under the current circumstances, management has also urged the general public to remain calm and co-operate them in these challenges times.
