Another Tamale-Buipe road accident claims 1 live, leaves 2 in critical conditions

Tamale-Buipe road has claimed another live while two others are in critical conditions after the land cruiser they were travelling in was involved in an accident on Tuesday February 23, 2021.

The accident occurred when the land cruiser with the inscription of KNUST [Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology] on it and with registration number GV 785-14 burst a tyre and somersaulted between Fufulso and Domeabra on the Buipe-Tamale highway.

This comes barely three weeks after 18 persons were killed in a road accident at Sarekyekura  near Fufulso on the Buipe-Tamale highway. On February 18, 2021 two persons were also killed with many sustaining injuries in an accident that occurred at mile 40 near Sarikyikura in the Central Gonja District

 

 

The Central Gonja District Chief Executive, Mustapha Mahama, who confirmed the accident, said an eyewitness told him the land cruiser was traveling from Bolgatanga to Kumasi when the accident occurred.

Personnel from the Central Gonja District office of the Ghana National Fire Service and Ghana Police Service were able to rescue the injured persons and rsuh them to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for treatment. The body of the dead was also taken to the same facility for preservation.
