Three youth groups namely; Concerned Youth of Binduri, Concerned Party Constituency Executives, and Concerned Party Elders & Patrons in Binduri have jointly called for the removal of the acting District Chief Executive for Binduri, Ayinga Abagri.
According to them, Mr. Abagri worked behind the scenes to undermine the Party’s campaign in the constituency.
At a press conference, the leader of the groups, Philip Ayamba noted that Ayinga Abagri worked against the campaign of the Party in the constituency.
“For instance, it was clear that Mr. Ayinga Abagri did all he could to thwart the efforts of the Assembly Man for the Binduri Electoral Area to ensure that Binduri gets a fair share of the District Assembly development projects. Mr. Ayinga Abagri has sadly sidelined the Party Constituency Executives who now are toothless as far as decision-making is concerned. You call Party Executives and none is ready to speak about the concerns of party people in the constituency.
Yet people who do not know what is happening in the district are asking the president to elevate the non-performing, party-killing DCE to a higher position or retain him as DCE? Let it be known that in the very unlikely situation that the president nominates Mr. Ayinga Abagri for the position as DCE for Binduri in the president’s second term in government, we the good people of Binduri shall very strongly resist the president’s choice with all due respect. Mr. Ayinga Abagri has let us down very seriously. Let the truth be told, Mr. Abagri has let the people of Binduri and the NPP party down.”
He added that retaining the DCE for another four years will be the end for the party in the district, as many are not happy with his performance.
“We need to emphatically state that we in Binduri need to rise. We request the party National General Secretary (Mr. John Boadu) to send a good Research Team to Binduri to come and find out what is on the ground. If this is not done, we are afraid that even to retain the seat in 2024 is like a dream that shall never come to pass. Let nobody be misled. We cannot accept Mr. Ayinga Abagri as DCE for yet another 4 Years; it shall be another 4 wasted years for the people of Binduri.”
They however called on President Akufo-Addo to consider appointing one of the very loyal and hard-working party members from Binduri Central.
“Binduri Central, the “World Bank” of the NPP in the constituency has nothing to point to for our loyal support to the party all these years, since Ghana’s independence. We believe we deserve some recognition and this has been long overdue.”
