The Bolgatanga Technical University in the Upper East region has on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, matriculated its first batch of students since it became a Technical University April last year.
The university admitted a total of 1,011 students for the 2020/2021 academic year for the various programs.
Addressing the Students and some dignities at the matriculation ceremony, the interim Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Samuel E. Alnaa, said “The conversion we all labored for is in fruition, and we must be ready now to face the consequences of ‘this bull’ by its horns. We must make sacrifices now for growth and development that will benefit us and our communities and one of such sacrifices is to upscale our knowledge, skills and ways of doing things.”
“It is thus important that we all abreast ourselves with the condition of our work especially as a Technical University. Besides the need to upgrade our academic and Professional qualification, there is also an urgent need to improve the practicality of our training by seeking appropriate industrial knowledge and skills.” He added.
The Vice interim Vice chancellor also expressed gratitude to the government and its appellate institutions for the elevation of the School from a Polytechnic to a Technical University
